Why do we like this?
If you're looking for something to wake you up, I'm pretty sure Son Lux's "Lost It To Trying" will do the trick.
The hyperactive drums give off an obscure sound as the many different synths act as a bass and layers of bursting atmospheric tones. The harmonized vocals bring a little sanity to this otherwise tripped-up track, and the high tones add a fairy-like effect to the low-laying loops that seem almost hauntingly dark. All in all, Son Lux is executing a style that is often imitated and very rarely duplicated, and they're doing a damn good job at it.
Son Lux's album, Lanterns, will be released on October 29.
