Why do we like this?

Almost anonymous online, South London four-piece Smooth Ends' single "Southbound" is a raw, friendly introduction to a band we find right at the beginning of their fledgling musical careers.

Distinctively retro in their approach, standout track "Southbound" is a cheerful, swaying number that couldn't be more fun if it tried. Sticking to a solid, no-frills band structure, the track's shimmering guitars, skipping beats, and carefree vocals make this a perfect summer ditty.

"Southbound" features on the band's debut EP Magic Johnson, which is available to download now.
