Why do we like this?
About two months ago we picked up the first new single from Chicago-based indie rock band Smith Westerns, titled "Varsity." Today, the band unveiled the second track off their upcoming album Soft Will: "3am Spiritual."
The song takes a relatively inoffensive indie rock approach, keeping a steady and predictable first 3 minutes. Then comes the bridge (boy do I love a good bridge!) -- providing a little over a minute of music that could have been taken right out of Wilco's book. Quite fitting given the two bands come from the same city.
Soft Will is out June 25th via Mom+Pop.
