Why do we like this?

Uncovering a song like this from 2010 is what keeps my music discovery juices flowing. This track is from London rapper Smiler, and features an earlier Del Rey singing the hook, which transpired by pure happenstance when she was recording in a studio right next to his.



The hook that LDR sings a fresh adaptation of Shirley Bassey's 1967 single, "Big Spender," which will appear on Smiler's new mixtape All I Knowon February 27.



I'm definitely digging the collaboration here, and I think a lot of LDR fans would be interested in hearing more of this hip-hop flair in songs to come. Check out the track and see if you agree.
