Why do we like this?

After an exciting debut last year, Norwegian duo Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt – a.k.a. Smerz – share a mesmerizing new single “Oh my my,” via the legendary English indie label XL Recordings.

“Oh my my” shares traits with the sounds of Smerz’s 2016 debut EP Okey – the fast club drums, soft R&B vocals, and hypnotic synths – but the contrast between these elements now sounds more distinctive. Smerz maintains their engaging balance between experimental and pop, but this track seems to favor the former.
