Why do we like this?
Roughly two months have passed since newcomer band Smallpools was featured as Song of the Day with their track "Dreaming." The song caught us by surprise, and instantly notched Smallpools into the list of bands to watch in 2013.
And with that context, today we present to you the second single to be released by the LA-based band. "Mason Jar" is a solid and unrelenting indie pop song, probably best suited mid-set. The bridge around the 2 minute mark stands as my favorite part of the track, but at the end of the day, consider me in no way blown away. I was hoping for a touch more from this release...
"Mason Jar" will be available as part of a 4-track EP, including the aforementioned "Dreaming."
