There's a lot to like about Small Talk's new single "Brothers." It's infectiously melodic, thanks to the vocal work of lead singer Sean Seaver and piano chord progressions that speak straight to the heart.
The song is about Sean's brother Brian leaving the band. It's a departure from Small Talk's typical blend of surf rock / indie pop. Whereas the rest of the band's debut EP Us Kids feels upbeat or at the very least hopeful, "Brothers" is content with processing what it means to love someone and have to say goodbye.
