!!! (pronounced "Chk Chk Chk") releases their newest album, Thr!!!er, very soon. It's a bold title, but this album has !!! going over the top with their funky sound. From the opening notes, you can tell they're trying to make people dance. The rhythms and guitar work on this album do remind you of those early 80s grooves; there's even some grooves reminiscent of the album Thriller. So, there is some sort of connection between the two -- it seems as if they have channeled that kind of dance-laden energy from Michael Jackson and created one of their best records.
This tune, "Slyd," is by far the most danceable track of the album. The heavy back-beat and percussion fit quite snugly in between the bass lines, and the vocals range from a female sampled to a deep, bass-heavy male lead. It makes for some funky moments that you'll be sure to enjoy!
