Why do we like this?

While I was sent this tune late last week, I listened to it today (Monday morning, my time) knowing I'd probably need something like this to ease me into the working week.

Slum Sociable is a (very) fresh new act out of Australia, and "Anyway" is their first release together. The duo is taking the mysterious route, which is becoming common in the electronic music scene, and their music suits this approach to a T. Slinky, UK-inspired electronic jazz is found in abundance on their debut track, with the early 90s Bristol movement (Massive Attack, Portishead) especially referenced. This is extremely well together music, and I cannot wait to hear more.

While there's no mention of further releases on the horizon from Slum Sociable, this is an act with a lot more to come.
