Slow Pulp's single, "Preoccupied," is captivating and charming, leaving anything but what the song title suggests. It's an exploration into a musical approach that's been taking center stage these past few years.
This genre-melding musical masterpiece is a mix of indie R&B and easy-listening dream pop. The vocals swirl and sway between the electric guitars and synth. The effected saxophone is otherworldly and hard to pin down. The drums never slack-off, providing a funk-centric vibe as the bass slithers beneath, creating a solid foundation for a sensationally hypnotic track. Slow Pulp seems to have come out of nowhere but surely they won't be going anywhere soon.
