Slow Magicis an artist apparently "not from around here" and making music as if he was our imaginary friend. How lovely. With a mask strikingly similar to the SBTRKT from yesteryear and potentially related to TEED's elaborate costumes, Slow Magic certainly has a penchant for the whimsical side of life.
Grooving at a steady medium pace, "Girls" seems to encompass the feeling of endless summer sprinkled with glasses of rosé. Chopped, glitchy vocals are constant and manage to communicate an interpretable story without actually using any words, perhaps an electronic equivalent to scatting. Each element in the track -- guitar, drums, and other awesome percussion instruments- stand distinctively separate but still marry together nicely as one overarching sound.
"Girls" is the first single released via Downtown Records for their upcoming album.
