Nothing like a sassy Siveyremix to start off the week on a high. The Manchester-based, Soulection-affiliated, synth play afficionado provides a delightful version of SLK's "Ride."
The remix comes free and signals the recent release of SLK's new EP,Form. I can't quite place where I've heard a voice that sounds like hers, but I think that's a good thing. Sivey, being the maestro he is, gives "Ride" a complete funk overhaul, I guess you could say it's music to my ears.
SLK's EP and the bonus remix you are hearing are both from the rising label PRISM, who operate in London. Don't let their small catalog lead you into thinking these guys/gals aren't serious. Their previous releases are quality, and seem to have been chosen by someone with a good head on their shoulders.
