Why do we like this?
"Angels (Down)" is the third track off of Slimburn's debut EP Illusions. My SoundCloud feed suddenly got inundated by segments of the California producer's entire EP, and I'm happily drowning.
Delicately looped vocals elevate this track as the standout -- it's especially evocative, and there's a whimsical quality that reminds me of Pogo's (now very famous) cinematic re-working. The punctuation of echoey, metallic rattling also immediately calls Gold Panda to mind. I'm by no means trying to reduce Slimburn's sound down to other artists, it's just exciting to pick out the comparisons and see where they extend beyond.
