I'm relatively new to the Slimburn party. He's a West Coast producer who's recently teamed up with emerging label alaya as part of their special friends release series. The endeavor reminds me a bit of Soulection's White Label Series, and by that I mean I can tell the alaya team cares about the vibes they spread.
After learning that "شفقة" is Arabic for "pity", I realize the real pity here was that Slimburn's Mercy EP is only three tracks long. I really like how "شفقة" lingers, building a cloudy, sorrowful atmosphere around some choice samples and instrumentation. Anyone else love that rainstorm in the background?
