I still remember when I was first convinced to give hip-hop a proper listen. It was in roughly 2006, and the man responsible was my friend sweeney kovar (who has been writing for Indie Shuffle since ~2010).
At the time, I was operating under the belief that "rap is crap"; that is, until he introduced me to the likes of Talib Kweli, Crown City Rockers, and a whole slew of artists who were doing more than just yelling along to pop tracks.
Flash forward 9 years, and I still think that the yelling rap nonsense is a load of rubbish. Hip-hop, on the other hand, is awesome, and Skizzy Mars happens to be one of those artists who keep me interested in the genre.
"Be Lazy" is the New York-based artist's latest single, to be included as part of a new album called The Red Balloon Project. It will feature alongside tracks such as "Do You There (Ft. Marc E. Bassy)."
If you pre-order The Red Balloon Project now, you'll get this track and two others instantly. If you're keen on that, follow this link.
