The west coast group Sjowgren has put out another mysteriously sexy single. "Beginners" makes a home for itself with thudding guitar and vocal harmonies that gallup in the distance. Synths sputter and float under the lead singer's humming.
The track is so incredibly concrete in its hard rock momentum, and yet so very wide in its breadth of emotion. It's a soupy mess of angst, empowerment, and catharsis.
Sjowgren has once again raised the bar for grungy indietronica.
