Why do we like this?
It doesn't take much to see where Sivu drew his inspiration from for his debut track "Better Man Than He." Partly because the music video accompanying the song depicts the London-based musician singing along under an actual MRI scanner, but also because of the chilling lyrics that serve as advice to a friend fighting through bouts of depression. While we can delve into the musician's cerebral inner workings,the video is an allusion to the deep soul-searching this track forces you into, as its melodic piano chords and soft-spoken vocals tingle throughout your body.
This track was produced with the help of Charlie Andrew, the producer behind Alt-J's Mercury Prize winning "An Awesome Wave." It's the perfect blend of acoustic melodies and harmonious vocals supercharged with an electronic backdrop. The EP is out now with a special, limited edition release through No Recordings.
