Urban alt-rock theatre.
I find it really engrossing when music makes you aware of the people around you — whether it be a good or a bad way.
The Alt-Rock sound in Sir Sly's new single makes me feel like doing an observational night walk through the city. The song hits its themes of 'people' and 'identity in society' through some tactfully implied post-effects in the form of ambient 'social' vocals.
This song makes you view all these people as though through a window as you walk from viewpoint to viewpoint guided by Gary Clark Jr.'s amazingly driving guitar solo.
Sure, the feeling of detachment isn't beautiful in its own right, but when a song makes you feel like you're truly watching 'people theatre,' it makes for a pretty dope experience I'd say. I hope you enjoy it too.
