When I think Bennington, Vermont, country hits and loads of acoustic guitar chords playing on the radio come to mind. They seem to pair well with the quaint shops scattered on Main Street and the gorgeous views of the Mountains from the monument.
But Sir Chloe, who hail from one of my favorite towns, is adding indie rock to that picturesque vision.
Although I’m not watching them live I can picture the band having a grand time on stage. It’s hard to believe they aren’t totally rocking out.
Vocalist, Dana Foote, smoothly slides on the notes, freely taking her voice in any direction she wants. Then there are some harsher sounding instrumentals mixed in, which help make the song feel a bit more badass. As a whole, "July” has a blend of girly girl and punk rock aesthetics.
Although Sir Chloe has left Main Street for the Big Apple, I think they can bring their alternative style anywhere.
