I've always been a little iffy when it comes to James Blake, but this cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds Of Silence" had me shedding a tear or two, especially when he dedicated the track to a friend who passed away on New Year's Eve.
Debut on his BBC 1 Radio show, Blake's heartfelt vocals drip with sadness over the soft keys providing a subtle backdrop keeping the original melody in tact. If this one doesn't move you then I think all is lost.
Congratulations Blake, you've finally won me over.
