As I was on an Internet scavenger hunt for new music, I decided to take a break from my discouraging efforts and check my email. It was as if the music gods witnessed my struggle and granted my only wish! Inside, I was presented with Silver Medallion, a 24-year-old New Yorker whose self-centered ego drew wedges between his friends and family, but found solace in raging at upscale New York City clubs, arguing with Goldman Sachs assholes, and producing gritty dubtep tracks.
I wouldn't be quick to refer to Medallion as a douchebag because there is a reason for his madness. A few years ago, he lost his best friend, and needless to say life got a little challenging to manage. Since then, The infamous Chuckie on BBC Radio 1 has spun the EP, Stay Young, and it garnered over 35,000 plays on SoundCloud and 8,000+ downloads.
Silver Medallion's vocals have received the highest praise in the comment boxes of his Facebook and Twitter pages, and for good reason. His raspy voice is captivating; it's no wonder why the bottle service girls know him by name and why he's famous for the champagne facial.
Stream the song and comment if you wouldn't mind a champagne facial yourself, especially when the heavy bass drops while yelling, "Baby, let's stay young!"
