Why do we like this?
I got my first introduction to Sibling through last month's peppy single "Westside." Upon first listening to their newest release, I had to question if it was the same artist.
Sibling show off their darker side on this one, trading sunny melodies for sinister beats and desolate production. It drips with cool pianos, a steady bass drum, and crunchy oscillations, keeping things moving while drawing you into it's alluring and ominous tone.
Perhaps the duo are moving in a different musical direction more comparable to the pensiveness of Broods than the bubbly sing-alongs of Royal Teeth. I for one am a big fan of the sonic shift, and also think this song would be the perfect backdrop for some modern dance choreo. Who's with me?
