Why do we like this?
Shur-I-Kan's forthcoming EP, Stepping Tones, is totally great. Let's just get that out of the way. It's an epic snowball effect of deep house grooves that flattens a lot of competition in said genre, and I was totally going to blog about it until I listened to "Kissing," a track he released a few months earlier.
More jazz infused than his newest material, "Kissing" is a delightfully crisp house tune suitable for warm lighting, chill, damp nights and -- you guessed it -- kissing. The sultry vocals paired with an interesting choice of instrumental stabs are a unique addition to Shur-i-kan's already impressive catalog.
For more on the London-based producer, follow him on Facebook and scope more of his sounds via SoundCloud. Enjoy!
