Why do we like this?
Conversations in the AM are the best kind, and it seems as though songs about them might also be.
Los Angeles-based producer and vocalist Shoffy, and Italian producer Theodor, have teamed up for a sultry, intimate jam “Ride,” perfect for pillow talk... and whatever else..
Soulful vocals, chilled out R&B grooves, some crunchy beats, vinyl crackle, and the smooth, smooth sounds of the organ combine to create a track that is reminiscent of early Craig David -- "Fill Me In," anyone? -- but still placed firmly in our current, urban musical landscape, blending so much of what I enjoy about the "SoundCloud" sound into one 2:47 minute track.
A definite standout track for me this week!
