Why do we like this?
I was approaching Shigeto's "Ringleader" as a possible track for future inclusion in Sunday Night Chill, but after a minute I knew it deserved its own stage.

Zach Saginaw goes by his middle name, Shigeto, which means "to grow bigger," and is an ode to his Japanese roots. I find that bit of information particularly relevant to this track. It not only grows bigger in musical scope, but carries a depth to it which can sometimes allude ambient chill.

There's a story being told, and its engrossing. I don't know the actual story, but I've written my own of Shigeto single handedly tapping into the underlying, percussive flow of nature. He gradually calls out to and reveals the song of a collective consciousness.

"Ringleader" is the second single off No Better Time Than Now, debuting August 19 on Ghostly International.
