Why do we like this?

South Philly five-piece Sheer Mag perfectly straddles the line between rock 'n' roll and pop. Their latest 7” EP, II, channels raw angst, and is made with equal parts grit and soul, staying true to the defiant punk DIY spirit. “Button Up” is high-energy riff upon riff upon riff, coupled with powerful vocals from front woman Christina Halladay.

Every song on II is an anthem. Sheer Mag unapologetically sings about gentrification, yuppies, shitty landlords, and the injustices of class discrimination. On “Button Up,” Halladay belts out “when you see something that makes you sick/do you button up or do you bleed?”
