Why do we like this?
Jonathan Meiburg undoubtedly has one of the most recognizable voices in folk rock today. That is, of course, if you've heard Shearwater. If you haven't, you're missing out...but fear not! They're on the brink of releasing a new album by title Animal Joy, and today Sub Pop have unleashed "You As You Are" for a free download.
"You As You Are" has one of the nicer chord transgressions I've heard in a while -- further added to by fantastic drums and interesting instrumentation. It's a bit more complex than the prior song I'd heard, "Animal Life," keeping my excitement levels up about the full release.
Shearwater's Animal Joy will be available on February 14th.
