The first thing that strikes you about "Hawaii" is vocalist Sharky's incredibly distinct vocals. Possessed with a unique delivery Sharky reminds me of other interesting artists such as PJ Harvey and Bjork.
"Hawaii" itself is a jazzy pop composition created by Sharky and producer duo Speakman Sound. Inspired by Parliament-Funkadelic’s biblical Glastonbury set and Clooney’s The Descendants, it's impossible not to like this track.
Lyrically the song is about material things stopping us from being all that we can, with the lyrics a mixture of Sharky's own worlds and text from Haruki Murikami’s Dance Dance Dance. On the track Sharky told The Line Of Best Fit:
I wanted to create something funky and with attitude.
