Why do we like this?

The Grandmaster of the SP-1200, the Elohim of breaks, Shafiq Husayn, is readying another full-length manifestation.

After cutting his teeth with Rhyme Syndicate in the 90's and laying the blueprint for the sound of soul and R&B you hear today ten years ago with Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Sha fro Ra took us round the globe with 2009's Shafiq En A-Free Ka

Five years later, he's readying round two. Before The LooP arrives via Eglo Records, Shafiq lets off a loving warning shot in the form of "Picking Flowers," a tripped-out love letter. The shuffling, warbling beat feels warm and comfortable. Shafiq gets some bars off as does newcomer El Sadiq, both waxing on astral love.

You can purchase the song on Delicious Vinyl's upcoming compilation, DVTV Vol. 2
