Why do we like this?
Portland, Oregon's own Shadows On Stars just released their self-titled debut album (here's a review from another Indie Shuffle blogger). Two critical pieces of information to note: it's free. And it's really good. Right now it reminds me a lot of Porcelain Raft's Strange Weekend. Some tracks float on by, while others weigh heavy on the soul.
"Here" is one of many good tracks on the album. I like hearing both Randa and Brian sing together and really dig what they did with the last minute of the track. It's not so much that Shadows On Stars is stepping outside the box with this song, but filling that box with an ocean of guitar riffs, synths, reverb and heart. I can dig that.
Props to Confusion from Pigeons & Planes for introducing me to SOS.
