Why do we like this?

London-based Semi Precious, the solo project of a guy named Guy, combines a soothing vocal fragility with "shifted-wrapped-chopped samples" to create music that exudes an experimental, atmospheric intensity.

“Shaky Skies” is dark, gloomy, and spatial, flecked with despondent piano keys founded on throaty bass notes. Calling to mind an amalgamation of Perfume Genius with lo-fi Burial-esque undertones, this is perfect music for a rainy day.

Also worth checking out is the over-all-too-quickly “When It’s Hard”, before his new EP drops on Squareglass Records at the beginning of September.
