Welcome to the 90s, the decade of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Maybe they were phasing out by then, but these two still held the romantic comedy darlings title. So much so their appearance together in the movie Sleepless in Seattle provoked producer Matt Mahaffey of Self to dedicated a track to Meg entitled, "Meg Ryan." The album was called Breakfast With Girls.
As mentioned in "Let Go" post for Justin Jay & Friends, I wanted to add "Meg Ryan" to the shuffle to give some perspective. Indie pop in the 90s had a particular sort of thing going on, a carefree and fun sense that wasn't as self-aware as much pop is today. There was something about that Justin Jay track that really hit that vibe. Can you hear it?
Hope you listeners appreciate this addition. Enjoy!
