Why do we like this?
Kygo is a 22 year old from Norway with an accessible yet delicately refined style that I can totally get down with. His SoundCloud gives listeners an eclectic mix of mellow electronic funk and soul. This remix of "Younger" makes me feel almost exactly the same way I felt when I heard the original -- blown away, and in a state of extreme happiness and calmness.
For me, a good remix elevates the quality of an already superb track. Of course, there are some tracks that don't need a remix, and it's unfortunate when they end up in the wrong hands, because the original excellence of that song is compromised. This is not the case here -- all the qualities that make the original so good, have been preserved. Kygo's beats climb with the Swedish singer's vocals, each additional sound complimenting the precision of her soulful vocal notes. The final product is what I've ahd on repeat for the past three weeks.
You might find yourself smiling for no reason after hearing this song, so be prepared. If you dug this, you might also want to give his Marvin Gaye remix a listen, too. You ears won't be disappointed.
