Since their inception in 2006, Seekae have always been one of Australia's finest purveyors of electronic music - a statement I don't anticipate will change anytime soon. Already boasting two standout albums to their names (The Sound of Trees Falling on People and +Dome), their discography is soon to be joined by a third record as Seekae turn their attention to The Worry - due out in a matter of months.
With the album's lead single "Another" featuring on my Best of Australia 2013 list, you can understand my excitement to hear its follow up. Fortunately, my anticipation has been quenched with Seekae debuting “Test & Recognise” earlier today. Again, we are treated to the haunting vocals of Alex Cameron (the first two albums were instrumental), adding a certain accessibility to their music. But, most importantly, their attention to detail has not tapered off, with their new releases as potent as usual. This new track is electronic pop music at its very best, with the aforementioned vocal addition sliding in perfectly alongside Seekae’s typically incredible arrangement.
Seekae are on fire, and “Test & Recognise” has taken The Worry to the very top of my anticipated albums list for the remainder of the year. Release date now!
