Sounding like a psychedelic version of Peter Bjorn and John, Seance Crasher's latest single "Shotgun" is a super enjoyable genre bending track.
The pseudonym of Portland based artist Kevin Rafn, Seance Crasher has been making music since 2013 and is readying the release of sophomore record Gentle Cycle.
Taking elements of psych-rock, shoegaze, funk, soul and modern pop, "Shotgun" is an ode to '60s/'70s rock with an undeniably catchy guitar riff. The addition of a fluttering flute arrangement only adds to the genius of this track. Speaking on the track Rafn said:
The song attempts to capture the sound of the introspection inherent in the recording process. 'Shotgun' began with a drum loop recorded onto reel-to-reel tape and then slowed down a bit to achieve a deeper tone and a relaxed pace. The flute solo and bongos were performed by Papi Fimbres.
Gentle Cycle is set for release in 2019. Check out more of Seance Crasher here.
