Spring is almost here and if you're not excited then maybe this song will pep you up. Sean Bones' single, "Hit Me Up," is refreshing and relaxing, just like a breath of fresh air.
"Hit Me Up" is a combination of breezy island funk and lazy beach synth pop. Sean's vocals are slightly melancholy, which fit in nicely with the overall lackadaisical vibe of the song. The beat is laid back, the bass slithers in and out throughout the track, the acoustic guitar brings a folky feel, the synths add a constant, whimsical hum, and other touches make for a nicely constructed chilled out synth-pop song.
If you like what you've heard, go on and get yourself a copy of Sean Bones'
Here Now 7" (out Feb 28). And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for album
Buzzards Boy our May 8.
He'll also be performing at SXSW so if you're there, I think his tunes would be a wonderful fit for the warm and sunny weather in Austin.
