It's midnight on a Sunday night, and you are flipping through the channels. There seems to be nothing on T.V., but wait... is that Scrubs being syndicated? Yes it is, and you can't help but watch.
After airing for what seemed an eternity, and even surviving switching networks, the first season of the popular show starring Zach Braff reminds viewers why we loved Scrubs. Maybe it was the bromance between J.D. and Turk, perhaps it was the evil janitor, or even the rants by Dr. Cox. At any rate, I couldn't imagine college without being spectacle to J.D.'s inner monologues and hilarious imagination.
There also happened to be quite a few excellent songs placed here and there during Season 1. From one of my favorite A Tribe Called Quest tracks to the punk pioneers the Buzzcocks. Other bands like Guided By Voices and Sebadoh featured during Season 1 reminded us why the 90s were such a great time for indie rock, and my hometown heroes The Shins were even featured.
Let your ears guide you and listen for these tracks the next time you're channel surfing in the middle of the night...
