Annie Mac posted a remix of Santigold's "Disparate Youth" on SoundCloud for her Free Music Monday track this week. The 2 Bears, composed of Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and Raf Rundell, could not have been a better collaboration choice, having many amazing remixes under their belt already. With Santigold readying for a new release April 23, she sure found a damn good way to draw more attention to her new album.
Elongating the original by three minutes, The 2 Bears really take this track up a few banging notches. Capitalizing on Santigold's amazingly metallic voice, they drop a big fat warbley bass line in the background and butter her vocals all over it. Staccato notes swirl throughout for an awesome backdrop, making everything about this track engaging and perfectly balanced.
