Who the heck is San Fermin?
I just purchased tickets to see Alt-J's late night Austin City Limits show and found myself curious about their opener. It was fate that this surprising song crossed my ears a few hours later.
We've covered this Brooklyn-based group before, but let's assume you're as green as me.
These talented musicians banded together in December 2012, initially for a single concert performed from sheet music. They signed a record deal, and their self-titled debut was presented to the world in 2013.
Allen Tate (vocals), Charlene Kaye (vocals), Rebekah Durham (vocals/violin), John Brandon (trumpet), Stephen Chen (sax),
Ellis Ludwig-Leone (keyboard, brainchild), Tyler McDiarmid (guitar), and Michael Hanf (drums) have since performed for sold-out shows and festivals across this beautiful globe. They have opened for beloved acts like The National, St. Vincent, Arctic Monkeys, and The Head and the Heart.
Tate's voice is sexy and sultry. I want to drape his words around my shoulders and shimmy in some low-lit bar. I lean into this song, and I'd like to think you will, too.
They seem like an excellent pairing for my beloved Alt-J. I'll keep you updated with their October set in Austin. Until then, enjoy.
