Why do we like this?
While it's hard to go wrong with a Sam Smith remix, it's equally difficult to take something that's not broken and fix it. On this remix, NY-based Prince Fox takes Sam's evangelic vocals and complements them with uplifting reverbed synths and a chilled-out hand clap beat.
With a voice like Sam's, keeping it simple is prudent advice. Prince adds some slight elements of trap and jersey club, but stays true to Sam's hymnal utterances and soulful crooning. Simplicity is the key here.
If "Lean on Me" gets remade anytime in the near future, you'll be left with this track at the end credits. And a warm, fuzzy feeling at your core. Church.
