Saintseneca is taking a turn towards mangled dream pop, and it could not be more welcome. In anticipation of their newest studio release, Pillar of Na, they've released "Frostbiter." The teaser track packs a synthy punch, while still staying true to Zac Little's hauntingly addictive voice.
The chorus slams us with nostalgia, reluctance, gloom, and catharsis all at once. But what was once acoustic folk has segued into rich layers of delay, reverb, and drum tracks. We're left with a compressed sound bite of bittersweet memories, ending on a note of pure longing.
The group's new sound is a delicious disembarking from the past. And to think there's nine more tracks waiting for us -- I can't wait.
