Expressionist Exhibition
If I walk through the Louvre with an audio guide... I'd want to hear this.
"Axis Bent" starts with almost innocent and beautifully calm drums, before slowly building into something far more expressionistic. Like a painter of the style itself, Ryley Walker creates something in an almost improvisational way. Everything seems created on the spot and yet satisfyingly cohesive — free form lyrics, a guiding vocal performance, and an instrumental value that feels almost like a group of friends just creating on top of each other.
This song is possibly befitting of any type of visual stimuli, but all I can think about is painting, either watching a painting or painting something myself.
Artsy, expressionist, free, and bohemian, welcome in any gallery or playlist I'd think.
