Australian outfit RÜFÜS has just released a new EP, minimally entitled
Blue via Gigpiglet/Inertia, and accordingly uploaded some tracks for our streaming pleasure. Last month they gave us some EP foreplay in the form of a track called "This Summer" (see my Indie Shuffle homie Hugh's
review here).
Formally released April 6, I was instantly compelled to post their track "Selena," being a power-house at first note. From their 2011 EP, the world is familiar with the dance-driven electronic/indie beats saturated with Tyrone Lindqvist's sensual vocals. "Selena" directly mirrors their successful sound, bringing a tow-tapping melody and some ferocity to their production. It's a dark, instinctual track with bulbous, weighty rhythm.
RÜFÜS is the kind of band that you hear and know instantly that they have miles of potential. I look forward to their first LP, whenever that comes our way. For more RÜFÜS check out their SoundCloud page
