Why do we like this?
Rudimental has recently released their next single "Free" (Ft. Emeli Sandé), including a new version with Nas, a Roy Davis Jr remix, and now this Maya Jane Coles remix.
I'm a massive fan of the Rudimental album Home, and don't think there are many albums that you can listen from start to finish and genuinely love every single song and order of it being played. Funny enough, another album I think you can do that with is Maya Jane Coles' Comfort, so when I saw that she'd remixed Rudimental's "Free" I was sure I'd like what I was hearing.
Sure enough, it's a great remix. It's the classic MJC sound, complete with a faster tempo and a variation of new instruments which pair beautifully with Emeli's stunning voice.
I follow Rudimental's Instagram and am constantly seeing pictures of celebration followed by thanks to their ever-growing fan base. It seems they're so genuinely humbled by how far they've come, and they deserve to be proud of their achievements for 2013. Being one of my favorite artists this year I can't wait to see what more they have in store for us!
