I find trying to reconcile my music passions with holiday music is terribly difficult. Most Christmas music makes me cringe, unless you're talking Nat King Cole and the like, and many people don't want to listen to what I would prefer... I mean, what's wrong with Deadmau5's 4x4 during Christmas dinner? Thankfully, this winter Röyksopp has bestowed upon us a lovely (and free!) present: "Le Cantique de Noel."
Holding true to Röyksopp's unique style, this Christmas classic has been revived with an electronic, dreamy overtone. Not even my grandmother would argue with this futuristic rework. Starting off quiet yet confident, the self-described "two-headed Norwegian monster" builds choir vocals over electronic notes creating an unforgettable new classic.
