Why do we like this?
This disco dub of Roxy Music's classic track from 1975 "Love Is The Drug" gives it a makeover in the form of a brilliant club jam. Norwegian disco-revivalist producer Todd Terje reworked this single and turned it into a seven-minute larger-than-life disco throwdown without tweaking it too severely.
The remix is being released on a limited edition deluxe 12"³ via The Vinyl Factory with a Balearic remix of "Avalon" from Lindstrom & Prins Thomas on the B-side.
Now for your viewing pleasure, a video from director Ferry Guow, which chops up old Roxy footage as well as more modern, era-appropriate film clips and imagery. The outcome is a vivacious tribute to the birth of glam rock with color-saturated images of 70s disco opulence. Watch it below:
