Why do we like this?

Singer-songwriter Jordan Reynolds hits the throw-back sweet spot with her hazy bedroom rock tune, "honestly," under the moniker Rose Hotel. 

'Honestly, I never thought of you,' she croons in an old-school style that brings to mind polaroids, washed out film from decades prior, and a half finished glass of whiskey on the bar. 

While Reynolds' light yet soulful voice and the style of the song mimic those from the 60s and 70s, the music and its message are in no way outdated. I don't think there's anything more timeless than: 'Honestly I never thought I'd do this, but love keeps surprising me.'
