Why do we like this?

I'm going through an "I don't love anything phase," which usually means I'm about to shift musical gears; this also usually means musical gears are shifting, via collective conscious and the like.

I've been intrigued by a slight resurgence of trance for some time, and while I wouldn't exactly call Rone (nor this Stamusic. remix) trance, I would maybe call it nu trance.

Both artists demonstrate a progressive, melodic approach, relying on a snowball effect of fuzzy synths and a nice choice of chord changes to carry the song. It's slightly uneventful, and I don't love it, but do I like it. There's a nice vibe and a refreshing break weaving in and out of the melody -- kind of like hypnosis.

I would suggest also scoping out the original, as it comes with a pretty nifty video. Enjoy!
