Why do we like this?

I've been a fan of Romare for a long time now, so it's exciting news to hear that his debut album will be coming out soon on Ninja Tune.

Before that though, the label is releasing a single of his by way of introduction. "Roots" is perhaps the most house-y thing Romare has done yet, but it still retains all the idiosyncrasies that help make him unique as an artist, such as the collage-based style inspired by his namesake, Romare Bearden.

While we don't yet have a release date for the album, "Roots" will be out on December 1, backed with another track, "Pusherman." You can pre-order that here.
