Why do we like this?
I had a wealth of praise for singer RobLaw a few posts back, and for good reason. With multiple appearances on UK producer XO's tracks, listening to his debut release proves that the American soul singer is not only a pretty voice, but also a decent producer.
"Missing You" is a smooth, sultry showcase of that gorgeous vocal agility, while stripping back the layers to reveal someone who is trying to drown their heartbeak - literal lyrics which Rob executes with simple finesse. Tasteful harmonies compliment ambient synths, while the beat gives the track drive, without being too overpowering.
Hoping to hear more original music from the RobLaw camp very soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out Jordan Rakei's remix of "Missing You."
